Along with a minimum three (3) years of experience servicing radiation therapy equipment you will have completed manufacturers' training for radiation therapy equipment OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Agency.

The BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North will be a full service cancer care facility with modern simulation, planning and treatment equipment including two linear accelerators used in the delivery of radiation therapy treatment; one computerized-tomography (CT) simulator and a chemotherapy treatment unit.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in medical physics, certification by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine and a minimum of seven years experience in medical radiation therapy physics. Applicants should also have an understanding of process management, demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary management team. Previous successful management experience is strongly desired.
Reporting to the Regional Pharmacy Professional Practice Leader, you will work within a specialized oncology practice, providing individualized drug therapy to patients and preparing and dispensing medication and other pharmaceuticals.

Drawing on your past experience and the input of interdisciplinary team members, you will develop appropriate and effective therapeutic plans, provide in-service education to colleagues, and educate patients, physicians and nurses on specific drug information. Your consultation and leadership abilities will also be of key importance as you will provide instruction and supervision to pharmacy students, direct technicians and other staff on the safe handling of cytotoxic drugs.
You must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, completion of a hospital pharmacy residency program, and at least one year of relevant experience. Consideration will be given to recent graduates and retail pharmacists interested in developing expertise in a specialty practice. You must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Pharmacists of BC and have maintained your professional competency and expertise through the ongoing review of current pharmacy and medical literature, attendance at educational programs and through contact with your professional peers.

The Northern Cancer Control Monitoring and Surveillance Coordinator will be a key member of the Surveillance and Outcomes Unit (SOU), BC Cancer Agency to monitor and provide knowledge exchange strategies and processes under the Northern Cancer Control Strategy.

As a member of the SOU team, the coordinator works with Northern Health in the development and analysis of indicators, and coordination of program monitoring to ensure consistency in indicator measurement and reporting for the Northern Cancer Control Strategy (NCCS) and the Province. The NCCS refers to improvements to existing cancer services as well as enhancements to services following those outlined in the Business Plan. The coordinator supports evidence based planning and practice within the Northern Cancer Control Strategy.
Your level of education, training, and experience is equivalent to a Masters Degree in a health related discipline, social sciences or a quantitative discipline and you bring at least 2 years experience working in an analytical capacity in a health services environment. A broad understanding of current issues, challenges and future directions of health care and cancer control in Canada with the ability to foster effective working relationships at all levels both internal and external as well as demonstrated leadership skills including mentoring, capacity building and learning facilitation skills will enable you to be successful in this challenging role. You possess strong statistical, analytical and interpretive skills are required, including the ability to prepare written reports and the ability to present evaluation and monitoring information to a variety of audiences.
Other assets include: excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; strong interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team; ability to plan, organize and complete large scale projects; and attention to quality and accuracy when preparing information to meet requirements as well as the ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently.

This role will appeal to an experienced professional who seeks both clinical and academic challenges. You are a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCP) and have certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or the equivalent. Licensure or eligibility for licensure with the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons is a must together with the ability to assume an academic appointment in the Department of Radiology at the University of BC. At least two years of relevant experience, ideally gained post-certification in a large teaching health care facility, is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in general radiology, CT, MRI and interventional radiology is required while previous fellowship training in MRI, or previous experience in oncologic radiology, would be an asset.
