No doubt about it, Prince George is a city that loves its sports. Kids and adults alike have a variety of opportunities in the way of sports teams and clubs. Sports teams include, but are not limited to,

And along with all the “normal” sports, Prince George has a large assortment of authentic northern events such as over-the-line snowball, hit-to-pass car racing and snowmobile drag races which showcase the free-spirited nature of the population living here.

Prince George’s sports facilities are also in great shape. The 6000 seat CN Centre is the home of the Prince George Cougars WHL hockey team and many die-hard hockey fans.

The Charles Jago Northern Sports Centre is a new 145,150 square foot facility which sits at the entrance of the UNBC campus. From general memberships to rental space for minor sport groups, to training opportunities for high-performance athletes, the NSC brings together fitness and sport development..

Facilities can be found all over Prince George, and all of them are worth checking out, like the outdoor soccer facilities which are second to none in the province of B.C.

The Rotary Field in Exhibition Park can be configured as 8 full size men’s fields, or 16 – 18 smaller fields. Men’s, women’s and youth soccer associations are very well established and popular. The Prince George Youth Soccer Association is the second biggest association in BC offering several programs for youth of all ages. Prince George has hosted many major national events on these fields. Indoor soccer is also very strong in the community with several indoor facilities providing soccer recreation for both adult and youth all year round.
